What is HIGH EDUCATION?

Live drone lessons for all schools in Romania

Imagine a special lesson in which students enter live with a great place, from where they watch LIVE images transmitted with a drone, and an enthusiastic teacher answers their questions, live, right from the spot. This is how the pilot project Higher Education began in 2020: in Hunedoara County, students and teachers from three rural schools went live with teachers of history (Adamclisi, Constanța), geography (founders from Ulmet, Buzău), biology (deforestation in the Făgăraș Mountains, in a live broadcast from 1700 meters).

In the spring of 2021, the project was expanded nationwide due to the partnership with the Department for Sustainable Development within the General Secretariat of the Romanian Government and the collaboration with Aspire Teachers and the Carolina Creative District Association.

Each of the 8 weekly lessons - broadcast live by teachers from both urban and rural schools - was attended by over 30,000 students from schools across the country. The drone lessons took the students to the Delta, to the place where the Danube flows into the sea, in Maramureș to the smallest school in Romania, on the tops of the Bucegi Mountains, to the Memorial of the Victims of Communism in Sighet, in a wind farm from Dobrogea, in Făgăraș County, at the Mausoleum of Mărășești and in the deserted areas of Oltenia.

Although the lessons were aimed especially at primary and secondary school children, their attractiveness was followed by kindergarten children from large groups, but also by high school students.

The impact of this project was impressive, the lessons being reflected in the news journals of national and local television (Pro TV, Antena 1, Digi 24, Antena 3, TVR 1), in TV and radio shows ("Romania, I love you", and "I like IT" - Pro TV, Europa FM, Radio Romania News).

In less than two months since its launch, "Higher Education" has reached a pool of more than 2,000 schools in all regions of the country. Because drone lessons have shown that technology and creativity can be combined into an innovative concept that will attract and inspire children of these times. A concept that would mean a lasting change for education in Romania.

What do we want to achieve?

HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION at the national level means the realization of 8 special lessons with the help of drones, which will be broadcast live for free in the fall of 2021 (starting with September 30) and will be available to any school in Romania. The lessons are broadcast weekly, on Thursday at 11 am. For the first time, one of these lessons will be taught from abroad.
